- ➤ Last weekend, thick fog limited visibility to 1/16th mile on Friday morning and 1/8th mile from Saturday evening to Sunday noon (caused by heavy rains and clear skies) and fog will persist until a new storm arrives at the end of January. KMPH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Newsom announced over $419 million in funding to help three cities expand emergency shelters and transitional housing as California records its first 15-year drop in homelessness. Officials say the funds build on long-term investments in housing and mental health as federal support declines (federal backing wanes). KMPH

- ➤ The Bulldogs clinched a 15 to 14 overtime win against the San Jose State Spartans at the Aquatics Center on Sunday, Jan. 18, with freshmen Charli Muñoz and Katelyn Mobley stepping up (helping seal the win). They will travel to Berkeley next weekend for a rematch in the Cal Cup. The Collegian
