- ➤ Today, Fresno Mission, city and state leaders held a ribbon-cutting for City Studios Permanent Supportive Housing off Dakota Avenue, between Blackstone and the 41, where 33 units will offer safe, stable apartments for low-income families and young adults. ABC30
- ➤ Local Girl Scouts announced a new cookie flavor as cookie season nears and urged the community to support the program. CEO Dr. Russel Statham (of Girl Scouts of Central California South) and scout Ellie shared details on Monday, Feb. 2. ABC30
- ➤ Kuppa Joy’s nonprofit arm returned from its second service trip to Guatemala on Feb. 2, where volunteers taught coffee classes and built relationships with local farmers who supply beans for its Central Valley cafes (Kuppa Cares). The Business Journal

- ➤ A vehicle accident in Parking Lot K behind the Old Administration Building damaged Fresno City College’s main water lines, and officials closed most campus buildings on Monday while some sites (like the New Science Building and Child Development Center) remained open. KMPH

- ➤ Today, McLane High School students and staff celebrated the opening of a new 16,500 sqft gym that includes courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton and features eight tennis courts with adjoining restrooms for tournaments. The $13 million facility was funded by Measure M. ABC30

- ➤ Data from the U.S. Center for Medicare + Medicaid Services show valley ER visits in 2024 ranged from just over two hours at Oak Valley to nearly five hours at Adventist Health Bakersfield. - ➤ As of Saturday, Blue Shield no longer considers Community Medical Centers in-network after contract talks failed.
