- ➤ CalKIDS offers children born in California college savings accounts with up to $1,500 available for students and up to $175 for newborns to help cover tuition, books, and supplies. Families can claim the funds until age 26 for higher education expenses. ABC30
- ➤ Fresno High unveiled a new gym (15,500 sqft) and eight tennis courts on Thursday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, giving senior Kai Alfa a dedicated home court for his final varsity season. - ➤ On Feb. 5, SEIU Local 2015 rallied outside Fresno’s Keystone Post-Acute nursing home to push for final non-economic terms in a new statewide contract for nursing home workers, with local officials present (about a dozen organizers attended) and Bayhire LLC reaching an agreement during the event. - ➤ Fresno County’s Central Library will close on Sunday, Feb. 15 for major renovations, and temporary service centers will be set up to provide access while the work upgrades the electrical system, lighting and ceiling plus renovates the basement over the next 24 months. ABC30

- ➤ St. Agnes Medical Center is promoting heart disease awareness today by lighting the hospital red each night for the rest of February and offering free blood pressure checks (partnering with the American Heart Association) while using advanced procedures for minimally invasive heart care. ABC30
