CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, Tim Z. Hernandez discussed his new book that details the names and stories of Mexican farm laborers killed in a 1948 plane crash near Coalinga (once labeled deportees), connecting the victims with their families.  KVPR
  • Fresno artists have yet to receive their promised Measure P funds as the City takes control after a $1.5 million theft scandal at the Fresno Arts Council. Artist Jennie Guerrero and others are adjusting plans for downtown arts projects — waiting for a clear roadmap for future reimbursements.  Fresnoland

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Central Library in downtown Fresno closed today after more than 60 years of service for a major renovation. The project (40% complete) includes upgrades to electrical, lighting and basement systems, and nearby branches will serve patrons until the facility reopens in 2028.  ABC30

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fresno State men’s basketball snapped its skid on Saturday, Feb. 14 by defeating the Air Force Academy Falcons 93-63 at the Save Mart Center as strong defense forced 18 turnovers. Coach Walberg said injuries led to a revised lineup when the Bulldogs face Wyoming on Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Laramie.  The Collegian
  • Following Damarion Dennis's 21-point performance in a recent game, Fresno State Bulldogs will visit Wyoming Cowboys Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Laramie for their first conference matchup of the season.  ABC30
