  • Sports marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro returns to Reedley College for a community event today at the McClarty Center. The event includes a VIP meet and greet at 5:00 p.m. + a free fireside chat at 6:00 p.m.  ABC30

  • Today, SandboxVR officially launches its full-body virtual reality experience inside Fashion Fair Mall (formerly 50/50 Slaters Burgers) after hosting a friends and family event on Thursday.  KMPH

CULTURE NEWS

  • Rogue Fest returns tonight in Tower District and runs until March 7 with over 200 performances from 50 local groups in 10 venues, featuring singer-songwriters, poetry and magic. Fresno Writers Live sets are on Feb. 28, March 1, 5 and 7 — tickets cost $10 with a $7 wristband.  The Collegian
  • Fresno State's Contemporary Dance Ensemble closed their week of performances last Saturday with six pieces led by artistic director Kenneth Balint that showcased human resilience and community bonds; the group overcame minor music issues (cut out mid-performance) while delivering clear emotions about everyday life.  The Collegian
  • Former Jeopardy! contestants are invited to join Ken Jennings on stage during the San Joaquin Valley Town Hall Lecture Series. The event will be held on March 18 at the Saroyan Theater downtown (call (559) 444-2180 for free tickets).  KMJ Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Seventh and eighth-grade boys at Citrus Middle School take part in a 10‑week El Joven Noble program to build leadership skills and learn values like keeping their word – the program ends with a celebratory walk marking their transition into manhood.  ABC30

  • Fresno Unified School Board tabled a resolution on Wednesday night to oppose the proposed Southeast Development Area plan (which critics say could shift students to Clovis and Sanger districts). Trustee Islas warned that mayor threats did not deter her stance against the plan.  GV Wire

  • Bulle restaurant will have a soft opening on March 24 with a grand opening in April at Marks and Herndon in northwest Fresno (a project by the Press Box Sports Grill team) as chef Max McCarthy leads a fine dining experience with a chef’s table and cigar room.  GV Wire
  • Mike's Pizzeria, a family-run restaurant at Shields and West, has served homemade Italian dishes since 1962. The eatery (famous for its Nonna calzoni) still welcomes loyal customers today (with indoor dining and a banquet room for gatherings).  ABC30
