- ➤ The Fresno Fire Department warns parents after a second apartment fire today along Fresno Street and Belmont Avenue in Central Fresno caused by a child playing with a candle — neighbors helped contain the flames with fire extinguishers and no injuries were reported. ABC30

- ➤ Former Fresno Grizzlies president Derek Franks has been named COO at Lee's Air, Plumbing and Heating. He will manage daily operations and strategic planning to boost the company’s growth in Fresno, Sacramento and nearby areas (his appointment is expected to enhance service quality). KMPH
- ➤ The Gallery by Ray Royce, an award-winning salon open for only a year, is hosting a Mother’s Day giveaway for local moms nominated through its Instagram page, with winners announced ahead of the holiday. KMPH
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Central Valley Dance Festival will hold a performance on April 12 at Fresno Veterans Memorial Auditorium to promote hope and suicide prevention. The event, running for two decades, will feature at least 12 dance groups with free admission for children 12 and under (a focus on youth well-being). ABC30
