  • The California Fresh Farmers Market Association unveiled a 2026 calendar of 35 themed Tuesday events at River Park Shopping Center, starting this Tuesday with a barbecue and brews event celebrating National Beer Day (Fresh Rescue will collect unsold food for local families).  GV Wire
  • Fresno Housing and community partners broke ground on Avalon Commons Phase II in northeast Fresno, which will add 45 affordable apartment units — expanding the development to 105 units. The project supports efforts to boost housing access in a high-opportunity area.  KMPH

  • A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the grand opening of the Thrift Vault in Fresno on April 3, where the store brings high-end fashion, vintage collectibles, memorabilia, and affordable pieces (designed for a unique shopping experience).  KMPH

HEALTH NEWS

  • St. Agnes Medical Center in northeast Fresno marks a milestone as Dr. Russell Martin performed over 3,000 robotic surgeries using the da Vinci 5 system, a culmination of a decade of work. He has also trained other surgeons (spreading advanced patient care) across the state.  ABC30
  • KC Pharmaceuticals voluntarily recalled over 3 million bottles of eye drops from retailers such as CVS, HEB, and Kroger after the FDA raised sterility concerns. Local CVS locations have removed the product, and customers may return their purchases for a refund (the recall began on March 3).  ABC30

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Visalia Rawhide opened their season yesterday at Valley Strong Ballpark on Giddings Street against the Fresno Grizzlies in the new Highway 99 Rivalry Series, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. The series will award a custom-designed trophy to the winning team.  ABC30
  • Fresno Grizzlies manager Cesar Galvez is chasing his major league dream while preparing top prospects Ethan Holliday and Marcos Herrera for the new season. The team opens its home stand Tuesday (April 7) with fireworks and a magnet schedule giveaway, featuring a ceremonial first pitch from Mayor Jerry Dyer.  GV Wire
