- ➤ Fresno Police Department investigated a stabbing that killed a man in his 20s near Cedar and Alamos after a call just before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday – he was taken to Community Regional Medical Center – and anyone with information is urged to contact the police. KMPH
- ➤ Fresno County detectives arrested five men for a two-week summer robbery spree that started on August 4 at a taco stand+the suspects faced multiple felony charges including robbery and illegal firearm possession+authorities collaborated across agencies on the investigation. KMPH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Senior Israel Garduno and other ag students were honored at the USDA Agricultural Service Marketing Innovation Summit on March 18 at Fresno State—where nine groups presented proposals to improve the USDA website and commodity grading systems using artificial intelligence and modern technology. The event gave the students practical skills and career insights in agricultural finance and appraisal. Fresno State News
- ➤ Fresno Unified School District named Misty Her as the finalist for its new superintendent in a board meeting Wednesday evening. The board will soon negotiate and vote on her contract after she led the district as interim superintendent since last May. ABC30

- ➤ Fresno Yosemite International Airport is set to open its new $150 million terminal in November, and officials previewed an expanded screening area and 15 new art projects—including a large community mural—yesterday. The upgrade will triple passenger processing capacity and may help add direct flights to beach destinations such as Cabo San Lucas. GV Wire
- ➤ Fresno County Supervisors plan next year's Measure C renewal effort to focus on repairing roads so that the measure wins enough votes. They warned that without renewal the long-standing transportation tax—first passed in 1985 and renewed in 2006—will end in 2026. The San Joaquin Valley Sun
- ➤ Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the return of the Sun Bucks program to help ensure students do not go hungry during summer break. More than 4 million kids will soon receive an EBT card with $120 (cards will be mailed by last name from June through July and funds must be used within 122 days) while others can apply through their school meal offices.
