- ➤ Barnes & Noble in Clovis will open its new location on Herndon Avenue in Clovis Crossing on April 29; the grand-opening celebration will feature a ribbon cutting and a book signing with local author Monica Murphy. ABC30

- ➤ Fresno Unified approved bylaw revisions on Wednesday that could expand student board members’ roles (such as allowing them to explain votes and make motions) with changes expected by the end of May. - ➤ Fresno Unified School Board had a tense debate at its Wednesday night meeting over a bylaw amendment that would let a subcommittee recommend support on the Southeast Development Area plan. The measure passed 5-2 amid questions on political motivations from some trustees. GV Wire
- ➤ Fresno State announced its ASI election results yesterday at 1 p.m. at the Resnick Student Union, naming Alya Hassan as president-elect with 1,016 votes and a 236-vote lead over her closest competitor; she expressed gratitude to her peers. The Collegian

- ➤ On Tuesday, the NWS confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in Fresno and Merced counties. The EF-0 near Biola and EF-1 tornadoes near Clovis and Atwater caused minor property damage and downed power lines with no reported injuries. GV Wire
- ➤ A wildfire in Fresno County that began Thursday along Trimmer Springs Road (near Lakeview in the Trimmer area) expanded to 200 acres and is 40% contained as of this morning. Officials say the Hog Fire remains active while its cause is under investigation. GV Wire

- ➤ Gov. Newsom announced on Earth Day at Sycamore Island that three state parks were added to the Central Valley — San-Joaquin River Parkway, Feather River Park, and Dust Bowl Camp. State parks will add 30,000 acres by decade’s end as part of a 30x30 plan. The Collegian
