COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Paw Squad 559 will host its annual Wags and Wagers casino night on June 6 in downtown Fresno to raise funds for senior and medical-need dogs. The event will include casino games, a Western-themed barbecue, and a silent auction to support its foster care program.  ABC30

BUSINESS NEWS

  • AT&T launched its 2026 Small Business Contest on May 1, offering a $50,000 top prize for one small business owner and $5,000 for additional finalists. Applications run until July 31 and invite Fresno entrepreneurs to apply.  KMPH
  • Fresno will reconsider a Costco proposal in northwest with added traffic calming measures at Herndon and Riverside avenues; staff will recommend it on Wednesday and the City Council will decide on May 21.   • Tequila Fest returns to Chukchansi Park today with performances from Nelly, Elvis Crespo, and Twista, hosted by DJ Kay Rich and local DJs. Visitors can sample tequila from over 30 vendors (and enjoy food from Fresno Street Eats trucks).  KMPH
