  • On April 25, nearly two dozen Southwest Fresno families received certificates as they opened the sweat equity homes they built with help from the City, Self-Help Enterprises, and Tri Counties Bank. The project, which received $1.4 million in city support, created affordable homeownership—an opportunity for a long-neglected neighborhood.  The Business Journal

  • Firefighters discovered a body near Highway 180 and Peach Avenue in east-central Fresno at around 7 p.m.—officials are investigating if the person died from the fire or before it began.  ABC30

  • Authorities raised the reward to $20,000 to find the suspect in the Caleb Quick murder in Clovis—anyone with tips is urged to call Valley Crime Stoppers or Clovis PD.  KMPH
  • Fresno authorities reported that 21-year-old Bryce Tomlinson died after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck on Maroa and Fedora avenues around 9:30 p.m. Friday and was later found in a nearby canal while investigators work to determine if speed or alcohol contributed—officials say the truck's driver is cooperating with police.  KMJ Now
  • Clovis police increased the reward to $20,000 for tips on the killing of 18-year-old Caleb Quick outside a Clovis McDonald’s on April 23—detectives are searching for the suspect who fled in a 2024 Tesla Model 3 toward Fresno, and anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.  GV Wire
  • On Monday, a masked man shot three women at an apartment complex on Church and Elm avenues in Fresno — the victims sustained gunshot wounds to their lower extremities and were taken to the hospital in stable condition.  Your Central Valley
  • Fresno police charged 28-year-old Jagat Singh with murder and vehicle theft after his DUI crash last week near Clovis and Shields avenues killed 18-year-old Maddux Greene and 19-year-old Jordan Galvez when he drove his friend's Range-Rover without permission and fled the scene.  ABC30

  • Fresno DMV offices are busy as residents join long lines to renew licenses before REAL ID enforcement begins Wednesday, May 7. One woman said she waited two hours outside the DMV on Olive and Weber—facing delays due to limited appointments.  ABC30
