  • On Monday, Nicole Campau-Rocha stopped her SUV on Highway 41 to rescue a stray dog covered in foxtails—drivers cooperated calmly—and she later turned the animal over to the Humane Society for care.  KMPH

CRIME NEWS

  • Detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Fernando Ivan Delgadillo, a 27-year-old registered sex offender, at a Dinuba residence for felony charges of arranging meetings with a minor and sending harmful material to a minor — his bail is set at $65,000.  KMPH
  • Fresno human trafficking survivor Dominique Brown recounted a painful history of abuse — from childhood exploitation to four years under a pimp’s control — during a CBS47 investigation. She now educates community members on the dangers of trafficking and urges young people to seek help before their boundaries are exploited.  Your Central Valley

  • Fresno Unified bus drivers received job security after the School Board approved a new five-year special education transportation contract with Zūm Services that will begin in August; the contract guarantees all current drivers an 18% pay increase (plus enhanced benefits and upgraded buses).  GV Wire
  • Fresno State’s Women’s Entrepreneur Center was named the 2025 Women’s Business Center of Excellence by the U.S. Small Business Administration (providing free one-on-one counseling, mentoring, and training to female entrepreneurs) (covering the 15-county San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast region).   • At his State of the City address yesterday, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said that a smaller version of southeast Fresno’s mega-development plan—South SEDA—is needed to meet state-mandated housing goals and keep housing prices in check. He also noted that delayed state funds for downtown and Chinatown improvements, along with urgent road repairs, are key points as he promises a balanced budget next week.  Fresnoland

  • Fresno author Susie Harder partnered with Valley Children's Hospital to create a book that helps children understand epilepsy. The book uses an adventure theme and puzzles drawn from kids' ideas and took over a year to develop — it aims to spark open conversations and reduce stigma.  GV Wire
