- ➤ Two Fresno State Humanics students, Jazzmine White and Jose Luis Negrete, will award $33,000 in grants to three local organizations that support youth services, restorative justice and racial and economic justice — they will mark the occasion with an event on Monday, May 12 at Gazebo Gardens in Fresno. - ➤ Two suspects were arrested in connection with Caleb Quick's death — Clovis Police said a press conference will be held at the Fire Headquarters today. KMPH
- ➤ Fresno police arrested Martin Campos, 31, after he fired at a mother and her three-year-old during a domestic violence incident on Wednesday at First Street and Shields Avenue — he was injured, is being treated at Community Regional Medical Center, and will face charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and weapons violations. - ➤ City Manager Georgeanne White announced that Cliff Long is Fresno’s new Economic Development Director. Long—who worked in Nampa, Renton, and Boise—will start his job on May 19 to help bring new jobs and investment to the community. KMJ Now

- ➤ Fresno State will award honorary doctorates in humane letters this month to educator Ron W. Goode, corrections official Danielle Lopez, and entrepreneur Dennis Parnagian. The Save Mart Center will host Goode’s and Parnagian’s ceremonies on May 16 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. while Lopez will be honored on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.—each event recognizing outstanding contributions in their fields. - ➤ Fresno State will award honorary doctorates to educator Ron W.
