Two Fresno State Humanics students, Jazzmine White and Jose Luis Negrete, will award $33,000 in grants to three local organizations that support youth services, restorative justice and racial and economic justice — they will mark the occasion with an event on Monday, May 12 at Gazebo Gardens in Fresno.

A speeding car crashed into parked vehicles at the Friant and Shepherd intersection near Woodward Park at 2 a.m. today—Fresno Police said the vehicle burst into flames and the driver died at the scene.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with Caleb Quick's death — Clovis Police said a press conference will be held at the Fire Headquarters today.

Fresno police arrested Martin Campos, 31, after he fired at a mother and her three-year-old during a domestic violence incident on Wednesday at First Street and Shields Avenue — he was injured, is being treated at Community Regional Medical Center, and will face charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and weapons violations.

City Manager Georgeanne White announced that Cliff Long is Fresno’s new Economic Development Director.
