- ➤ Fresno Police are asking for help after releasing surveillance footage that shows a man who allegedly shot another man near a smoke shop on Sunday evening, with the victim suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body and taken to a local hospital; anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Alejandro Lopez (559-540-4343). - ➤ Two teenagers were charged Tuesday with the murder of 18-year-old Caleb Quick after police said they planned and carried out the shooting at a Clovis McDonald’s last month—both remain in juvenile hall and are set to appear in court Wednesday afternoon. ABC30
- ➤ A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times during a house party near Sussex and Gilroy in west central Fresno Saturday and remains in critical condition at a hospital (witnesses reported a fight broke out) while police are reviewing surveillance footage (no suspect information has been released). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ California Health Sciences University will graduate 131 students, including 109 medical students, on Sunday at Save Mart Center. The ceremony follows last year’s inaugural class and will celebrate a 100% residency match rate—71% in California and 23% in the Central Valley. The Business Journal

- ➤ Fresno filed an 11-count complaint in Superior Court last week against Pinnacle Hospitality and contractor Juan Moreno for alleged wage theft affecting nine workers who were paid less than the minimum wage for long shifts at the Holiday Inn on Highway 99 and Herndon Avenue—city officials say the 19-page complaint, supported by texts, videos, and a police report, estimates about $58,000 in penalties. - ➤ Yesterday, Comcast California and Fresno County broke ground on a fiber project in Riverdale that will serve 162 unserved residents and cost $1 million in a state grant plus private funding. The project also celebrated one year of service in Caruthers, where 90 eighth graders received new laptops and Caruthers Unified got a $10,000 check. The Business Journal
