  • Richard Sanchez, known as the Honeyman, died today at 91 from pancreatic cancer while serving the community with his honey stand at the intersection of Temperance and Belmont; he is survived by his wife (72 years) and a large family.  ABC30
  • Residents in Fresno and Clovis mourn the loss of Richard J. Sanchez (known as Honey Man) after his 18-year role selling honey and working as a produce manager; he is remembered for 72 years of marriage and a lasting family legacy.  KMPH

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fresno State celebrated its 50th Chicano/Latino commencement on Saturday at the Save Mart Center with thousands attending and special appearances by the founders and the CSU chancellor — graduates marched with flags for nearly three dozen countries. The event was the largest ceremony of its kind.  ABC30

HEALTH NEWS

  • Over 700 locals joined the NAMIWalk at Woodward Park on Saturday, May 17, with 788 participants raising $64,007 to boost mental health programs. FOX26 News and CW59 partnered with NAMI Fresno, and Justin Willis served as master of ceremonies + provided free education and advocacy for mental health.  KMPH
