  • Three Central Valley students — 14-year-old Caroline Van Garsse from Alta Sierra Intermediate School, 14-year-old Sarvadnya Kadam from Oak Grove Elementary, and 13-year-old Lawrence Ye from Herbert Hoover Middle School — are competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.
