- ➤ Costco is recalling grapevines from a Fresno County farm after glassy-winged sharpshooters were detected on shipments from Burchell Nursery, Inc. Customers who bought the plants between Apr. 21 and May 21 should contact local agriculture authorities and avoid disturbing the plants (to prevent Pierce's disease). ABC30

- ➤ KVPR’s Central Valley Roots (an in-depth series) features the story of Delano’s abandoned Voice of America Transmitting Station, built in 1944 west of Highway 99 to send U.S. messages worldwide during WWII and later for Cold War broadcasts. The 800-acre site closed in 2007 and its towers started demolition in 2023. KVPR

- ➤ Sanger Unified School District got written consent from North Fork Rancheria and the Lipan Apache Band to keep the Sanger High School Apache name under guidelines (California Assembly Bill 3074) that allow tribal approval. The board received this permission Tuesday and the restrictions will begin July 1. KMPH
- ➤ Sanger West senior Adriana Gonzalez Ornelas was named May's Superintendent Superstar (recognized for her leadership at the Hornet Hive Cafe and Special Olympics participation). She balances academics with extracurricular roles that enhance her school community. KMPH
