- ➤ Officials announced that 79 people have become sick from Salmonella linked to eggs recalled by California-based August Egg Company—21 of whom were hospitalized. Recalled organic and cage-free brown eggs, with sell by dates from March 4 to June 19, were distributed in California and other states, and consumers are advised not to eat any recalled eggs and to wash surfaces that came in contact with them.
