  • Sandy Richardson, co-manager of Al’s Cafe in Roeding Park, got her start in 2000 when she was offered a job on a breakfast run with her children and now serves loyal Fresno customers with hearty meals and upbeat 80s music. The diner, located in a former Wendy’s, received strong community support during COVID-19 closures—customers even brought extra tables—and continues to welcome regulars each day.  Fresnoland

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 42-year-old motorcyclist from Visalia died on Saturday, June 8 when his Suzuki motorcycle failed to negotiate a left curve and veered off State Route 180 near Hume Road in Sequoia National Forest (drugs and alcohol were not involved) as he struck the mountainside.  KMPH

CRIME NEWS

  • Fresno police detectives and the Undercover Tactical Team arrested 27-year-old Aaminah Norman on June 6 near Silverado and Corona Avenues—she is charged with the November 11 murder of 21-year-old Adriana Gonzales near California and Thorne Avenues.  KMPH
  • Two businesses in Fresno's Tower District were vandalized over the weekend—Component Coffee Lab showed damage from bricks and broken glass while Tower Yoga had its windows boarded up.  ABC30
  • Michael Cameron Fitch, 35, who was already in custody on a 2021 homicide charge, has been charged with murder and home invasion in connection with the fatal shooting of Ursolo (Frank) Sermeno, 47, which occurred on January 8th, 2022 at an apartment on Winery Avenue near McKinley Avenue after officers responded to a disturbance call.  GV Wire

  • Fresno Unified will offer over 100 free summer camps for TK–12th grade starting in July—camps will feature STEM, creative, and outdoor activities, run one week each, and provide meals, snacks, and transportation so students can enroll in up to three sessions.  ABC30
