- ➤ Hundreds gathered at the intersection of Blackstone and Nees near the River Park Shopping Center in North Fresno on Saturday afternoon for a No Kings Day protest and held signs and upside down flags to call for constitutional rights. Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said more than 2000 people participated and praised the Fresno Police Department for keeping the demonstration safe — protesters stayed off private property and the roadway throughout the event. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 48-year-old man was driving his semi-truck on Highway 41 near Big Tar Canyon Saturday when his engine began to smoke and then caught fire, burning the cab and hurting him; he was life-flighted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno as fire crews later put out a blaze that burned about 50 acres (his condition is unknown). - ➤ Fresno Arts Council is launching Gallery on Fulton during July ArtHop on Thursday, July 3 — the new eight-block outdoor venue on Fulton Street between Inyo and Calaveras will host local artists and makers from 5 to 8 p.m. Downtown Fresno Partnership will manage performance coordination while mobile food vendors are not allowed.
