Gavin Newsom announced on Wednesday that Ashley Albertoni Sausser, Frank Ruiz, and Adam Ramirez were appointed as judges for Merced, Tulare, and San Joaquin counties to fill vacancies from retiring judges — Sausser replaces Judge Shelly Seymour, Ruiz follows Judge Brett R. - ➤ Fresno City Council approved a proposal to streamline home building in office zoned districts by removing ministerial approval, and the measure will be voted on one last time before final passage as the city seeks to regain its Prohousing Designation. The council also accepted a $1 million state grant for a Youth Job Corps homelessness pilot program and ended a commission for local cannabis tax oversight while city leaders held a Juneteenth flag raising at City Hall — showing the council’s broad agenda.
