  • Today, the Fresno County Animal Shelter advises pet owners to keep their animals indoors and secure before fireworks begin—updating ID tags, microchipping, and creating safe havens help ensure pets do not get lost during the festivities.  GV Wire
  • The Fresno Animal Center is calling for fosters and adopters as it reached critical capacity and waived all fees to ease space limits ahead of expected animal intakes later today (the center is at 5277 E.   • Special Warfare Boat Operator 2nd Class Noah Michael Tobin died Tuesday during a parachute training event near Porterville Airport—officials paused the training and launched an investigation while providing support to his family.  Your Central Valley

CRIME NEWS

  • Hanford police arrested five suspects in connection with a home robbery on April 18 that left a 20-year-old woman fatally shot—authorities seized several firearms and linked the incident to a gang-related shooting in Lemoore.  Your Central Valley
  • A Fresno homeowner confronted a burglar rummaging through an office desk at around 5 a.m.—the suspect tackled him before fleeing while cameras captured a silver Lexus and law enforcement said two suspects are involved with a $5,000 reward offered for tips.  KMPH
  • A 10-page criminal complaint filed on July 3 charged 55-year-old Cesar Flores with 14 felony crimes—including alleged rapes and abductions of five women between March 2016 and June 2021—and he is held on bail exceeding $1.7 million.  ABC30
