- ➤ Fresno firefighters stopped a vegetation fire started by a lawnmower near Woodward Park on July 18 at about 11:30 a.m.—53 firefighters responded, evacuated part of the neighborhood, and set up defenses for nearby homes while an investigation confirmed the dry grass caused the fire. KMPH
- ➤ 25 firefighters dismantled a chimney on Donner Avenue early Friday at 3:30 a.m. to rescue a young girl who was stuck inside, and she was later taken to the hospital with minor injuries—saving her from further harm. KMPH
- ➤ A 60-year-old woman died in Fresno County after she ran a stop sign in her Acura TSX and collided with a Jeep Wrangler at the intersection of Grantland Avenue and Olive Avenue around 5:45 p.m.—CHP said the crash occurred Thursday. Your Central Valley

- ➤ The 21-year-old suspect Audrik Matevosian, who confessed to killing real estate agent Robert “Bob” Boyajian last weekend, pleaded not guilty in Madera on Friday — evidence shows he planned the murder for money — and he is set for further hearings next week. ABC30
- ➤ Fresno police arrested three individuals on Thursday after executing a search warrant on a home near Pleasant and Fedora avenues, recovering drugs, firearms, body armor, and illegal narcotics (methamphetamine, China white heroin, black tar heroin, and Xanax) and booking them into Fresno County Jail. - ➤ Fresno County deputies arrested 32-year-old Ernest Daniel Linton (of Fresno) on charges of home invasion robbery, sexual battery, and assault with intent to commit a sex offense after a woman reported he broke into her home on the 5000 block of E. Tyler Ave and grope her while she slept; he was later located near Olive and Peach Avenues and booked with bail set at $325,000. KMPH
