  • Fresno-based energy consulting firm NRG Incentives, launched nearly a decade ago by Aharon Davoyan after a personal setback, is preparing to expand its services into Southern and Northern California as rebate programs return amid new state regulations — including the 2025 ban on fluorescent bulbs. Davoyan uses a fast-pay approach to secure major projects like a $100,000 downtown remodel, and he says the revived rebates are key to the company’s future growth.  The Business Journal

  • The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding a missing at-risk woman named Whisper Owen and her infant daughter Sandra McCarthy, who were last seen in Fresno on July 15 at 5 p.m. traveling in a silver 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with plate 9LKH008—anyone with tips should call 5596003111.  GV Wire
  • On Monday, 33-year-old Kuvar Kumar was fatally shot in his car while arriving home on the 4700 block of N State Avenue in Fresno, and police said that two possible suspects in a dark colored sedan are being sought after residents reported hearing multiple gunshots and suspect the shooting was not random.  Your Central Valley
  • The California Highway Patrol and Fresno County Sheriff's Office are searching for 36-year-old Whisper Owen and her 8-month-old daughter Sandra McCarthy, who were last seen in Fresno on July 15th around 5:00 p.m. traveling in a silver 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with plate 9LKH008 — anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.  KMPH

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fresno Unified School District will host free immunization clinics throughout August to help students meet state requirements for school, with services at Gaston Middle School, Herrera Elementary and Tioga Middle School. Attendees (including those on Medi-Cal or without insurance) do not need appointments and must bring a parent with the proper records.  GV Wire

  • Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer and Councilmember Tyler Maxwell announced on Tuesday that a $1 million investment through Measure P will fund new pathways and renovated restrooms at Storyland in Roeding Park.
