ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man in his 30s died Sunday after being pulled from the Kings River near Winton Park at Piedra + Elwood roads when he went underwater without a life jacket and had been drinking, and bystanders and emergency crews performed CPR but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.  ABC30

CRIME NEWS

  • Fresno Police said a backyard party fight turned to gunfire and injured three teens on the 3900 block of East Ashcroft at 2 a.m. Sunday & all victims were treated and released as the investigation continues.  KMPH
  • Fresno police said 70-year-old Carl Johnson was fatally shot inside his home Saturday morning in Northwest Fresno, and his family—who remember his work as a fisherman and his kindness in lending fishing poles—are calling for full justice as the investigation continues with no suspect identified.  Your Central Valley

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Campaign finance reports show that candidates running for Fresno City Council seats open in 2026 have raised key funds — for example, Rob Fuentes led District 1 with $36,350 while Brandon Vang raised $147,498.88 in District 5.   • Fresno County’s Information Technology Services discovered on Wednesday that personal data became publicly available on its website due to a document upload involving multiple divisions (Environmental Health, Development Services, Road Maintenance and Operations, and Code Enforcement). County staff immediately removed the data and began notifying affected individuals while offering free credit monitoring (a review of the documents was completed in less than 30 days).  KMPH
