ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Thursday night in Fresno County, CHP said that a 27-year-old man riding a Kawasaki was fatally struck when a hit-and-run Hyundai Elantra collided with him on Highway 168 near Shields Avenue—another vehicle hit him in a dark part of the road as officers continued their search for the suspect.  KMPH

CRIME NEWS

  • Retired Fresno County judge Adolfo Corona was indicted by a federal grand jury on sexual assault charges after an alleged incident on March 14, 2024 in a courthouse stairwell and another alleged assault in December—prosecutors also accused him of obstructing the investigation, and he pleaded not guilty while facing up to 40 years in prison if convicted.  ABC30
  • A federal grand jury in Fresno indicted 66-year-old former Superior Court Judge Adolfo Corona on charges of sexual assault and obstruction—allegedly leading a court employee into a stairwell on March 14 and obstructing an investigation into a second incident.  KMPH
  • Fresno police arrested a man for DUI after they saw him urinating on Highway 99—a search of his car found 20 pounds of marijuana and a cooler with beer.  KMPH
  • Retired Fresno judge Adolfo Corona was indicted on five counts for sexual assault and obstructing an investigation—he is accused of assaulting a court employee on March 14 and trying to change records to support a false alibi—and he had pleaded not guilty to earlier charges after a 21-year tenure on the bench.  GV Wire

  • A Lightcast study found that California’s 116 community colleges added over $173 billion to the state economy during the 2023-24 fiscal year, with operations, construction, student spending and alumni productivity fueling income and job growth—eight of which serve the Fresno area.
