- ➤ Northbound lanes of Highway 99 were blocked at Herndon Avenue by a vehicle fire on Tuesday — drivers were advised to use alternate routes as no reopening time was provided. GV Wire

- ➤ Fresno County deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. on Monday at a home near Annabella Avenue and 4th Street in San Joaquin where they found a man in his 50s with severe stab wounds—he was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center while authorities search for the suspect family member who fled the scene. - ➤ Valley Crime Stoppers lists Roxanne Desiree Masker—41 years old with brown hair, hazel eyes and weighing 115 lbs—as its daily most wanted on a felony no-bail warrant for receiving stolen property and urges anyone with tips to call Crime Stoppers. KMPH

- ➤ The Salt 14-2 wildfire, which started last week near Jacalitos Creek Road in Coalinga, burned 25,580 acres in Fresno and Monterey counties and is 40% contained. Firefighters have built control lines—while evacuation orders, warnings and road closures remain in effect. GV Wire
- ➤ The Forest Service began staging a base at China Peak Monday as the Garnet Fire forced evacuations near Shaver Lake and led to four weddings being rescheduled. More than 3,000 firefighters will arrive through the week to help contain the fire—China Peak offers full parking, internet, and water services. KMJ Now

- ➤ Fresno County will begin budget hearings later this month for a proposed $5.3 billion plan.
