- ➤ Today, Fresno City College hosted the 25th Annual Guelaguetza to celebrate the tradition and culture of the Oaxaca community — the event featured folkloric dances, live music and traditional food presented by the Bi-national Center for the Development of Oaxacan Indigenous Communities. ABC30
- ➤ Hillcrest Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Reedley welcomed families over the weekend for its fall opening, where visitors enjoyed hayrides, rides on a vintage steam train—carefully restored—and pumpkin picking. The family-owned farm charges $10 per car and will be open on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October. ABC30

- ➤ Several major insurance companies including Mercury, CSAA, Pacific Specialty, Allstate and Farmers have committed to staying in or resuming service in California after new insurance reforms allowed them to consider additional risk factors when setting rates. California Casualty has already filed for a 6.9% premium increase and the California Department of Insurance said the reforms will make costs clearer for consumers. ABC30

- ➤ More than one month after being sparked by lightning, the Garnet Fire burned nearly 60,000 acres in Sierra National Forest and is now 99% contained as crews mop up and patrol for safety.
