GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Newsom signed a law allowing the sale of E15 fuel—a gasoline blend with 15% ethanol—that may lower gas prices by up to 20 cents per gallon as state officials study its effect on air quality and vehicle performance. Experts warn that older vehicles may not work well with the new blend and could see reduced mileage.  KMPH

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Fresno State Bulldogs won a 20-17 game over the University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack on Oct. 4 and improved their record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Mountain West play. They will need to raise their performance before their next game against the Rams—if they want a shot at a conference title.  The Collegian
