- ➤ Fresno police announced that retired K-9 Gunner, a Belgian Malinois known for school demonstrations and safety work, passed away peacefully on Thursday. He served with Officer Young from May 7, 2014 until his retirement in August 2021 + was celebrated by the community for his loyal service. KMPH
- ➤ A Rising Tide event launched its six-day series on Oct. 18 from noon to 7 p.m. in Downtown Fresno to boost local businesses and showcase local artists and vendors — including Amethyst Alchemy’s yoga session, local food providers, the interactive Expression Wall, and musical acts like DJ Biggie. The series will continue monthly with the next event set for Nov. 22. The Collegian
- ➤ Porter, a one-year-old Pekingese rescued six weeks ago from an orchard after being dumped and hit by a car, is now fully recovered and ready for adoption. - ➤ Later this year, visitors at Selland Arena in downtown Fresno will see a new overhead scoreboard funded by a $605,000 donation from Visit Fresno County that will replace the outdated display installed in 2006—making repairs impractical and expensive. Mayor Jerry Dyer said the update will help the arena continue to host sports, concerts and other events and support downtown renewal. The Business Journal

- ➤ Action News Anchor Dale Yurong was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle last Saturday in South San Francisco.
