- ➤ Voice actress Kat Cressida, known for voicing Dee-Dee in Dexter’s Laboratory and a voice double in Toy Story, entertained fans at the Weekend Blender event held at the Sierra Vista mall. Attendees could receive signed merchandise and join the blood drive where Cressida also donated blood to help support the effort. KMPH
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Southeast Fresno now features a new shopping center at Fancher Creek Center with a Target store open and plans for additional shops that will create up to 1,200 jobs — a project in the works for nearly 20 years — which city councilmember Brandon Vang said will boost local spending and reduce travel time for residents. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kaiser Permanente returned to normal operations after a five-day strike ended early Sunday morning, with 30,000 health care workers resuming work at 7 a.m. Kaiser said contract talks will restart on October 22 and 23 (as negotiations resume after the strike). ABC30
- ➤ Clovis mother Alyssa Kincaid, who battled stage four lymphoma while pregnant and went through five rounds of chemotherapy, delivered a healthy baby girl on September 19 at Saint Agnes Medical Center. The newborn (weighing three pounds nine ounces and spending 16 days in the NICU) marks a hopeful step in her ongoing recovery. ABC30
