- ➤ Today, families in Fresno went without SNAP benefits as the program ran out of funds. Local groups and businesses — such as Share Fresno and BB’s Gelateria — stepped in to provide non-perishable food and will host a giveaway on November 22nd at Jaswant Singh Khalra Neighborhood Park to help meet rising needs. - ➤ Clovis Botanical Garden opened the new Evert Family Visitor Center on Oct. 29 to offer a space for meetings, artisan displays, and science talks. The air-conditioned 2,460 square foot center—designed by architect Arthur Dyson—was the result of nearly 10 years of planning and a major donation that secured its funding. GV Wire

- ➤ Fresno City Council will vote next Thursday on a resolution to contribute $250,000 to the Central California Food Bank to provide 1 million meals for local families as federal SNAP funding stays at risk amid the shutdown.
