- ➤ The Fresno Chaffee Zoo euthanized its 31-year-old giraffe, Baba—one of the oldest in the country—on November 21 due to advancing arthritis; she had charmed visitors and raised seven calves during her long life. ABC30
- ➤ Today at Procreation Brewing Co in Fresno, an electronic dance music event supports autism awareness from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with free admission until 6 p.m. and performances by DJ Basswar, Eternal Grime Raves, Lost Twins, B.K. Simpsons, TarHeart and V3GA. GV Wire
- ➤ Fresno nonprofits were awarded $60,000 through Walmart’s Spark Good program in the second quarter of 2025 to support groups that help women, children, and animals. The Central California Women’s Conference received $7,500 for its annual conference held in September — additional grants were given to Pawsitive Connections, Exceptional Parents Unlimited, and Refuge Aroma. - ➤ Blackstone Chevrolet is expanding its used-car inventory in Fresno by opening a 300-vehicle lot at the former Office Depot on N. Blackstone Ave (the site was renovated with new lighting and landscaping). The grand opening will be held on Dec. 6. The Business Journal
- ➤ The biggest accounting firms in the Central Valley added 26 new CPAs between 2024 and 2025, with Baker Tilly growing from 34 to 52 CPAs in offices in Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare counties—this growth came from staff passing the CPA exam and new hires. The Business Journal

- ➤ Jesus Cruz, a senior at Parlier High School, was named this month’s Superintendent’s Superstar for his leadership in ASB and NJROTC. He led school rallies, dances, and started Boys’ Volleyball while planning to join the UCLA NROTC program after he graduates—an honor that means a lot to him and his family. KMPH
- ➤ Fresno State’s Craig School of Business teaches a new class where students run a pop-up store to sell Fresno State-branded apparel and gifts. The first event was held on Oct. 21 and a second event will take place on Dec. 4 at the walkway between the University Student Union and the University Center—students gain real business skills by managing all aspects of the store. - ➤ CHP officers and local auto experts warned Fresno drivers to prepare for holiday travel amid thick fog and gridlock traffic. They urged drivers to use low-beam headlights and have their cars checked every 5,000 miles — as enforcement runs from Thanksgiving Eve through Sunday. ABC30
- ➤ Fresno city and county officials announced on Friday the closure of the emergency shelter at the former Motel 6 on Blackstone that housed about 200 residents, as funding for emergency housing was discontinued. Officials said non-profit RH Community Builders moved residents quickly to a new site & the change is part of a city plan to build permanent housing and phase out emergency shelters by 2028. ABC30

- ➤ Inspire Health opened a new primary care office at 2176 Shaw Ave in Clovis—adding two doctors, a surgeon, and a nurse practitioner to expand care and train new physicians. Clovis Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua said the facility, the group’s first in decades, will improve health access in the community. GV Wire
- ➤ Community Cancer Institute in Clovis received a $9 million grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine to build a new care center on the Clovis Community Medical Center campus — the 2000-square-foot facility will house a lab for cellular and gene therapy to expand treatments in the Central Valley.
