- ➤ A new UCLA report finds that building the 99 in the 1950s demolished 400 homes and displaced about 1,000 West Fresno residents, erasing a historic part of the neighborhood’s D Street. - ➤ Valley PBS has received a stabilization grant from the Public Media Bridge Fund to help offset the loss of federal funding and continue its service to residents from Merced County to Kern County. The $26 million initiative will support essential public media operations in the region. GV Wire

- ➤ The county board approved Dr. Trinidad Solis as the new Health Officer on Tuesday and she will lead public health programs throughout the area. A Fresno native (and recipient of national awards), she previously served as Deputy Health Officer since 2022. GV Wire
- ➤ CityHealth released its 2025 Policy Assessment on Monday, noting that Fresno earned a bronze medal among 51 cities for evidence-based health policies; Fresno received medals in six areas including complete streets, sick leave, flavored tobacco, greenspace, accessible pre-K, and safer alcohol sales (guiding future local improvements). - ➤ Today, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association links sleep apnea with Parkinson's Disease by reviewing records of more than 11 million veterans.
