- ➤ A woman was arrested in Clovis on Sunday after starting a large vegetation fire near Armstrong Avenue and Highway 180 that scorched several acres without damaging nearby buildings—Diana Rivas, 35, now faces three counts of arson and one count of attempted arson—and she was booked into Fresno County Jail. - ➤ Former NFL player Robert Golden founded Golden Charter Academy in Fresno in 2021 as a unique K-8 school that teaches environmental literacy through hands-on projects with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo— the school, which includes programs like tree planting and a free farmers’ market, received the City of Fresno’s Youth Leader Award from Mayor Jerry Dyer at the recent State of the City event and has more than 600 students on its waitlist.
